Welcome Spring
Hello and Happy Springtime to you,
This has been an amazing year, one of reflection and renewal. Now, like the flowers, I feel like I am coming into bloom! I have done the work I desperately needed to do to reclaim my passion and my drive to be the best of myself. Sounds kind of esoteric but I promise that I will be making very practical use of all the work I have done. I will be bringing you fresh perspectives on style and fashion. I also plan to nudge and encourage you to learn about color and style so that you become able to style yourself and enjoy looking your spiffy best every day.
So, let’s begin with color. Above are the Pantone trend colors for Spring. You will see them in all the magazines, shown for clothing and accessory looks. The good news is that there is something for everyone. If Pink Yarrow is not your thing then you can work with Flame. Same for Pale Dogwood or Hazelnut (second from the right). Use your color palette to see which of the colors will flow and harmonize with your coloring.
I already bought shoes in Hazelnut and they have become my everyday staples. Here’s one that is very similar from Vince Camuto, courtesy of Macy’s.

Speaking of shoes, Here is a flyer I received from DSW. The FIVE suggested styles for this Spring/Summer are perfect to get you through the whole season. In fact you could simply stick with your basic wardrobe add a few scarves in the trend colors and go wild on the shoes. Shoes get dated much faster than basic clothing so that’s a pretty simple way to handle it and definitely feel like you are “On Trend.”
