Earring Styling for the 21st Century

Earring Styling for the 21st Century

The six pairs of earrings you MUST have in your jewelry wardrobe. If you have these earring styles you will always have something to wear, no matter the occasion. I’ve given a few examples and some pictures but earrings are much about Personal Style, so you do you!

#1 Simple Stud Earrings

They can be diamond, pearl, silver or gold ball, cube or whichever suits your personal style. Great to wear by themselves for casual or as a minimal accessory when the neckline of your clothing is busy or you are wearing a major necklace that doesn’t need competition.

#2 Hoops

Gold or silver, embellished or plain. You may want several pairs in various sizes if this is your go-to style. Small ones work for business; medium and large are great for playtime and always look great with jeans.

#3 I Mean Business

Smaller and conservative in shape. This doesn’t mean boring as you can see from the examples. Choose gold, silver, rose gold, copper or bronze, whatever is your best metal color. The point is to bring attention to your face not to the earring.

#4 Color Earring To Match Your Eyes

These can be made with jewels, glass or even enamel. They will bring the attention to your face and particularly to your eyes. Plain or fancy according to your taste and your budget. This earring will work with anything you wear because it matches your personal coloring.

#5 Dramatic Evening Earrings

You want these earrings to really make a statement: Shoulder dusters, amazing diamond clusters, or whatever says BIG NIGHT OUT to you. Vintage, classic, contemporary, or romantic, so long as they make you feel fabulous.

#6 Something That Says FUN To You

Choose from the current trend earring, as seen everywhere from Neiman’s to Target, your vintage shell earrings from your grandma, something plastic and blingy, a contemporary odd shape or even two different earrings. I always think of vacation for this type of earring. Even if you can’t get away, you can change into these for Happy Hour!
